Be Well Heard & Well Paid

Blogging - A powerful tool for any author - Just Post!

A well crafted blog is one of the most powerful messaging and marketing tools any author can have. When you add in the fact that you can blog for free, it becomes clear that blogging is a core skill that any author who wants to become Well Heard & Well Paid must master.

There are three key skills that must be mastered to create a well crafted blog :

  • 1) Posting - Setting up your blog and posting entries
  • 2) Writing - Writing and posting to a schedule
  • 3) Writing Well - Developing an engaging topic and style

1) A Ning blog is not much more difficult than your e-mail program, still for most people it will take five or ten posts before it will start to make sense and feel natural.

Answer - Just Post : You are not going to learn how to post anything unless you are posting something. So, just post - 3 times a week for 3 weeks - and by the end of the month this will be an easy tool for you to use. You can always edit or delete a post later as you get better at blogging.

2) Both search engines and humans value blogs that post on a predictable schedule. You need to establish a base of writing that is published like clockwork week in and week out so that both humans and search engines can come to depend on you.

Answer - Just Post : Whether your style is to prewrite a stack of articles or to write them from the headlines of the moment ( I recommend you do both ), your success will depend on you posting something on time every time over many weeks and months. So, develop a strategy and practice that works for you. But you will never find what works for you, until you start writing and posting so - Just Post!

3) In order to attract and keep a high quality audience of thousands you will need to become a professional writer publishing a well crafted message tuned to your audience, but very few of us start here.

Answer - Just Post : Even if you are a very good writer it will take you months of trying out ideas and getting feedback from a real audience to find your voice and their ear. There simply are no short cuts here. So get started, Just Post and listen to your audience.

Notice that in all three cases the answer is Just Post!

At first you need to Just Post to learn the tool, no matter how confusing it may seem. Then you need to Just Post to develop a style and reputation of being dependable. Then you will need to keep posting because no matter how good you are it will take you months to build your audience and tune your message to their ears. None of this can get started until you start posting.

So, Just Post!
